I feel like there’s already a gun behind my back with this law in the verge of passing so please.
I feel like there’s already a gun behind my back with this law in the verge of passing so please.
the philippines is trending right now and i hope y’all know it’s because our senate passed an “anti terrorism” bill, which basically targets the critics and opposition leaders of the current government. it may impede our freedom of speech and they could basically “allow the police and military to conduct a 60-day surveillance on suspected terrorists and compelling telecommunication companies to disclose their calls and messages”.
on top of this, the philippines doesn’t have mass testing available yet and the enhanced community quarantine has technically ended today, which means thousands of workers are now forced to go to work (even without a proper public transportation system). my mother has just gone to work at the airport and i’m terrified for her safety and health. the coronavirus cases have been increasing constantly and we’re still in the first wave.
i know so many things are happening in your own countries, but please keep us in your minds and prayers. 💗
It tortures me, because you make me feel good. Do you know how hard I have to hold myself back when I’m near you? It tortures me you know. That’s why I want you to be far away from me, so I don’t have to feel all this pain inside. That’s the reason.

Proud of this uncle.
Also, this family was providing space for protesters to escape tear gas and get medical attention in their restaurant before the fire:
…the Islam family opened a room in their spacious restaurant to medics, who set up a makeshift field hospital. Ms. Islam said she saw at least 200 people come in and out on both Tuesday and Wednesday night. Some needed to catch their breath after inhaling tear gas, she said. One woman had been hit in the eye by a rubber bullet, damaging her vision. A rubber bullet tore open the back of another man’s neck. When he fell unconscious, the medics laid him out on a table.
their fundraiser
Hats off to Mr Islam, but I’m gonna need for white people sharing this en masse to actually donate, because it feels really performative otherwise for y’all to stand around talking about what a beautiful thing it is for a South Asian small business owner to be the one bearing the brunt of a community’s understandable outrage at white supremacy. The riots are a response to pain you inflicted; pay up.
so wait. they sheltered protesters, and then the next day the building was burned? when we have proof that cops are starting fires?
GOOD POINT
